Rate of reaction simply means speed of reaction, it is a measure of how long chemicals take to react together. There are several factors which affect the rate of a reaction.

- Particle size.
- Concentration of solutions.
- Pressure of gases.
- Catalysts.
Kinetic theory and collision theory is used to explain many of the observations into reaction rates.
